Mr. Dillard, Director of the After School Program, works with one of the students

The Every Child Valued Program consists of a Board of Trustees, which is accountable for overseeing the management and daily program operations; an Educational Advisory Committee that provides guidance for the After School Program, specifically on the topic of assessment tools and methodologies; a Development Committee that focuses on establishing friend-raising and fundraising initiatives and building and cultivating relationships with supporters. The Lawrence Township Public Schools system (LTPS) partners with Every Child Valued by providing funding for the program. The Lawrence Police Department supports us by maintaining a positive, pro-active presence in the community.

Organizational staff, all of whom work part-time, include an executive director, financial administrator, development coordinator, program director, learning coaches, who are New Jersey State certified teachers. Paraprofessionals and volunteers from the community assist the educational team in working with the children.

Our Goals:

  • To strengthen families
  • To build character
  • To combat racial, cultural and socio-economic isolation
  • To build a sense of community.

Our Success: The success of our child-centered, community-based partnership is reflected in

  • improved grades and attendance at school
  • student participation in school activities
  • increased parental involvement in a child’s academic progress
  • improved communication between parents and school personnel
  • an ongoing reduction in the number of children who are classified as needing special education.
