Alicia Riggins Leads ECV Running Club for Summer of 2024

The Every Child Valued (ECV) Running Club, founded in the summer of 2023 by Eggerts Crossing Village residents and TCNJ scholar-athletes Jahmir Anderson (LTPS Class of 2020) and Valandra Riggins (LTPS Class of 2019), continues to make strides in the community. Both founders were participants in the Every Child Valued program during their elementary and intermediate school years.

The club, aimed at fostering life skills including perseverance, teamwork, technical running skills, and fun, saw new leadership in the summer of 2024 with rising LHS senior Alicia Riggins, another alum of the Every Child Valued program. Alicia expanded the club to include a summer enrichment program for younger students and established a partnership with the Trenton Track Club, led by legendary coach Al Jennings.

On Thursday, August 22, at 6 PM, the ECV Running Club celebrated its runners with a recognition ceremony at the Fred Vereen Junior Center at 175 Johnson Avenue, in Eggerts Crossing Village. Families and community leaders were invited.  Participants were awarded certificates of recognition and gifts including T-shirts from Eggerts Crossing Village and water bottles from Real Central Jersey Soccer Club (RCNJ).
