S.T.E.A.M. Ahead! offers students the opportunity to develop new skills, discover interests, and gain confidence in science and technology-related fields. We look forward to learning and creating together.
What Is S.T.E.A.M. Ahead?
S.T.E.A.M. Ahead! is an interactive after-school program that encourages students to explore, experiment, and build in a supportive learning environment. Classes are taught by Mobile Minds of NJ, led by founder Daraka Saunders, and focus on real-world applications that make learning meaningful and fun.
Running from February through June 2026, this program invites students in grades 6–10 to explore the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math through hands-on, engaging weekly classes.
What Will Students Learn?
Each month features exciting topics and hands-on activities, including:
Kitchen Chemistry: exploring the science behind everyday reactions
Engineering Projects: designing, building, and problem-solving through hands-on challenges
Intro to Robotics and Programming: creating simple robotic programs
Mini Med School™: learning about the human body and how it works
The program concludes with student presentations, allowing participants to showcase what they have learned.

Days: Wednesdays and Thursdays
Time: 5:45 PM – 7:15 PM
Dates: February – June 2026
Eligibility: Eggerts Crossing residents in grades 6–10
Cost: Free
Students with perfect attendance will receive their own simple circuit kit to take home.
